Hypnotherapy Courses

IMPORTANT: Please note that the effects of therapy may differ for different clients. No therapy can give you a 100% guarantee of a cure. All clients are required to complete a questionnaire form before undertaking hypnotherapy, in which you will be asked to disclose certain medical information. Whilst clinical hypnotherapy is very safe, if you are epileptic, or undergoing psychiatric treatment, then you should obtain a letter from your medical practitioner to confirm that you may have hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation in which recommendations are made to modify one's thoughts or behaviour for the better. The subconscious mind directs the energy from within and governs the body's involuntary processes, including habits and things we do 'automatically.' It is powered by our emotions and imagination and controls the involuntary activities of the body. Every single thing that has happened to us is also stored in our subconscious mind.

The mind is particularly responsive to new ideas and suggestions in hypnosis, and it is open to recommendations that encourage more sensible, balanced, or beneficial attitudes toward reality.

Symptoms connected with stress or anxiety can be alleviated in the clinical context, behaviours can be modified, and addictions can be conquered; in such circumstances, it is not a replacement for medical treatment, but a very beneficial adjunct to it. The mind and body interact, and this holistic approach benefits the person as a whole.

Regression techniques can be employed in various cases. This could entail revisiting (but not necessarily reliving) events that shaped us earlier in life. The subconscious mind can be 'reprogrammed' for success by bringing these memories to the surface and releasing the negative impacts. The number of sessions necessary varies from person to person, however most people see an instant effect from hypnosis.

What is Hypnosis
& how does it work?

The basic plan

1) A CONSULTATION CALL This conversation, which is usually conducted through Zoom, allows us to discuss your situation in greater depth and for us to explain how the mind works and what the hypnotherapy experience would be like. Prior to starting therapy, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. It also allows both parties to determine whether they are a good fit to work together.

2) ONLINE CONSENT FORMYou will be provided a link to an online form once you have accepted to continue with the programme. You must complete this form in as much information as possible. It asks for some basic personal information and a brief medical history, and you sign and submit it to agree to the hypnosis sessions.

3) TREATMENT PLAN –We will create a tailored treatment plan based on the information gathered, outlining the areas that need to be addressed and the recommended sequence in which to do so.

4) PAYMENT – Payment must be made prior to the session and can be done via bank transfer.

5) YOUR FIRST SESSIONEach week, your sessions will normally take place at the same time and on the same day. This ensures consistency and makes it easy to avoid drinking before to the session. You must have the ability to think clearly. For your own safety, if you appear to be severely intoxicated at the start of your session, that session will be cancelled.

6) SUBSEQUENT SESSIONSYour meetings will most likely be weekly at first, but as you go through the programme, the frequency may alter to fortnightly/monthly, depending on your needs. Although some sessions may be finished in less time, we normally recommend setting up 60-90 minutes for each session. It's also a chance to talk things over and figure out what measures to take next.

7) ADDITIONAL SUPPORTYou will also have access to recorded hypnotherapy sessions at certain points throughout the programme, which you may listen to as and when you need them in between your live sessions with us. When used correctly and on a regular basis, these recordings assist to reinforce our work and make the sessions even more effective.

Hypnotherapy can lower the chance of relapse

THE CHANCES OF RELAPSE ARE LOWER IF YOU STOP USING DRUGS WITH ONGOING HYPNOTHERAPY SUPPORT.

Habits are established over time by repetition, and every time you repeat a specific behaviour (such as using drugs, abusing alcohol, or smoking a cigarette), you are reinforcing and strengthening that habit.

Consider smoking: if a typical smoker smokes 20 cigarettes a day and puffs on each one about 10 times, that's 200 puffs per day, or 200 times you're actively reinforcing the habit in your brain.

If you decide to quit smoking, drinking, or taking substances on your own, you may find that you are successful for a period of time. Your resolution to stop may take you through for a few years, but if you do not back up that decision with further support and action, and if you do not address the causes for your use in the first place, you are much more likely to revert to old habits. Willpower is a term that is sometimes misunderstood. "I don't have any willpower," a lot of my customers tell me, but this isn't true. Willpower gave them the push they needed to book an appointment with me. Willpower was the driving force behind their attendance at that meeting. Willpower is a burst of zeal, a rallying cry, a prod in the correct direction... However, if you don't do something about it (hypnotherapy in this example), your willpower will quickly diminish, and you'll be back to square one.

Willpower ends where hypnotherapy begins. Rather than your negative habits reinforcing themselves, hypnotherapy can help you change them and positively reinforce your choice to stop using. The more you reinforce a habit, whether it's a good or bad one, the more powerful it becomes.

So, if you have a series of hypnotherapy sessions over the course of a year, each one designed to help you achieve a different goal but all reinforcing your decision to stop using, your chances of relapse are reduced because your mental resolve, both consciously and subconsciously, is strengthening and you will be receiving the ongoing support and therapy that you wouldn't get if you went it alone.

You are frequently taught in 12 step treatment that you will always be an alcoholic or addict, and that you will always be struggling to not relapse. Are you a lifelong addict? Calling oneself an addict or an alcoholic reinforces your vulnerability. Repeating the statement raises the likelihood of relapse.

From a hypnotherapy standpoint, we must let go of our addiction identity and focus on becoming the person we want to be. Hypnotherapy can help people modify their life by changing their innermost ideas about who they are.

Hypnotherapy can lower the chances of relapse.

Hypnotherapy can accelerate recovery from addiction

Because it is very dependent on the individual, I say 'it CAN' rather than 'it WILL.'

Because we operate directly with the subconscious mind, rather than the conscious mind, as most other talk therapies, counselling, and support groups do, hypnotherapy is unlike most other talk therapies, counselling, and support groups.

When trying to do something deliberately, especially when trying to make large changes, it takes a lot longer and involves a lot more repetition, and it often produces unnecessary trauma (depending on the circumstances of the individual), and the results are less likely to be permanent. Because the subconscious is the portion of the mind that deals with emotions, habits, behaviours, beliefs, imagination, long-term memory, intuition, and instincts, it makes more sense to make the required changes there. The subconscious also controls our autonomic nervous system, which is the part of the brain that heals, breathes, digests, and so on without our having to tell it to. Any significant transformation, according to evidence, is the product of changes in the subconscious, and the only way to reach and change those beliefs, mindsets, and emotional responses is through hypnotic experiences.

When compared to someone who relies just on willpower and pure tenacity, the outcomes may be quickened and become second nature much faster. We can help the brain create natural feelings of happiness and pain alleviation by using hypnosis (especially valuable when going through withdrawal).

When it comes to dealing with the underlying issues (the reasons you started or continue to use drugs and alcohol), hypnotherapy can help you create a safe space in your mind where you can address painful or traumatic memories without having to consciously relive them as you would with counselling or other talk therapies. If someone asks you to talk about a terrible experience from your past while you are awake, you will most likely begin to feel the emotions you felt at the time, similar to a flashback. It can be really distressing. Indeed, you may begin to clam up, shut down, or avoid discussing it because it is too difficult.

You can reach a temporary state of dissociation while in hypnotic trance, which allows you to become an observer of past events and view and deal with them without experiencing all of the unpleasant feelings that go along with them. In conclusion, hypnosis is the most effective technique to make big, life-changing changes.
